What was the FAB:ME study?
The FAB:ME study is a daily study where you come to the office for 15 days. We’ll have you come back for a follow-up appointment 6-weeks after your initial appointment, or 4-weeks after we saw you last. This study examines the health behaviors of young women between the ages of 18 and 29 years old. We were interested in seeing how behaviors interact within the individual and how family and friends influence these behaviors, too.
FAB:ME is a registered, randomized controlled trial of methyl folate (Vitamin B9) supplementation. All participants will be asked to take a daily capsule throughout the study. Some participants receive a placebo (micro cellulose) and others receive 1,000 mcg of methyl folate. This study is intensive, so we provided our participants with up to $310 for completing all six-weeks of the study.
